 drawn 01/10/15
this is an unfinished pencil drawing of a lantern for the theme of pattern and texture, once again I used an envelope to use as a background, this picture would have been better if finished and had stronger tone, but I believe it has gone well so far as I have done by best to try to give the impression of perspective by slightly exaggerating the object observed for effect.

for this piece I used an envelope to draw a close up of a feather in pen, I used pen because I believed it would show the individual strands more effectively and also be able to show the monochrome colours of the feather. unfortunately this did cause the envelope to crease like when wet which is viable in the image though I believe I have achieved the desired effect for the feather. another negative to this is the outline being too visible reducing the realism of the subject. This follows the theme of close up

in this drawing I used paper from  an parcel that has had chalk rubbings from the nearby church that has been ripped up and glued onto ink washed paper. I drew on to this paper using pencil depicting the back of a typewriter. this piece did go well overall as the pencil seems to have worked well against the paper and brown paper, however I should have tried to find a way to include the typewriter keys and use straighter lined for mechanical effect. The theme for this is art and words.
